me-109 ID tag help
Hi,
i'm new to this and just aquired this ID plate from what I believe is from a bf-109. The owner said it came from a 109 that was active in Stalingrad) Picture: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/attach...7&d=1492768613 After much research and googling I found a parts list of a 109F and identified the tag as been sitting on the left "flügelübergang" (i believe this translates into wing-transition). Picture 2 http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/attach...8&d=1492768613 Picture 3 http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/attach...9&d=1492768613 When searching on the first part of the werksnummer: 26412 I get zero hits. Searching on the second part of the Werksnummer: 1083 i get the result that it was part of an FW-190. http://www.aircrewremembered.com/Kra...tabase/?q=1083 Also I can't find any reference to the hersteller NKF. I would like to find out:
Some of these are probably not possible to find out, but I'm new to this and hope to hear from the experienced people here what is reasonable to find and what is better to not even dream about finding out. I'd be very grateful if someone had info on these things or even more so if i were pointed to an open archive (if there is such a thing) where I can find this out for myself in the future. Re: me-109 ID tag help
Jesper,
The parts list confirms that it is an identification plate from a Bf109F airframe component; however, this same component may have also been used on other models of the Bf109. NKF is an abbreviation for Neue Kühler-u. Flugzeugteile-Fabriken, the source of the part. The Werk-Nr on the plate does not connect with Bf109F-series airplanes. The entry is likely the production serial number for an individual component. Unfortunately, the plate and the information it contains do not allow your other questions to be answered. Steve

Re: me-109 ID tag help
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the reply. What kind of werk-nr would allow the ability for a more detailed description to be found? (Such as exactly which airplane model it was attached to and possibly where this airplane was active etc..) I mean to ask that for the future, how do I tell them apart from the Werk-nr in my plate? (Or if this is identified in other places than the Werk-nr) All the best, Jesper |
