7 IAP VVS on 20/02/40
Hello!
Is there anyone with access to the ORB of 7 IAP during the Winter War? On 20 February 1940, they made a number of claims and I'm trying to figure out what type of aircraft they used for the different claims (they flew a mix of I-16s and I-153s). According to Geust's excellent "Red Star 7" they claimed 6 victories - 4 over Utti (Baranov, Ivanov, Myasnikov and Dubovik) and 2 more (2nd mission) by Kalinichenko and Kachnovskiy. All these claimed while flying I-16s. However, according to Bykov's "All aces of Stalin 1936–1953 " it seems that Baranov and Dubovik claimed 1 shared "Bulldog" while flying I-153s. (Only one Finnish Gladiator was lost during the day and it seems that it was shot down by SB gunners). Anyone? Best wishes/Håkan
