Re: Losses of Sturmstaffel 1, 30 january 1944

Thanks Karl,

So two pilots killed and two bailed out wounded, so at least four total losses, and ten other Fw 190 "lost" (including damaged I guess, "lost" here meaning included in loss lists).

So far I had two sources:

1) the RLV summary for 30 January 1944 included in the relevant claim file of Tony Wood:
_ claims: 2 B-24, 1 B-17
_ losses: 2 KIA, 1 WIA, 3 aircraft destroyed (damage between 60 and 100%) and 11 damaged

2) the Luftwaffe Summary Aircraft Losses database (thanks to Andreas Brekken and co) that show for this Sturmstaffel and this day the following losses:
_ 6 aircraft destroyed by gunfire from enemy aircraft during operational flight, including 5 "not observed by enemy" and 1 "observed by enemy".
_ 1 aircraft destroyed without enemy action on operational flight
_ 2 aircraft damaged by gunfire from enemy aircraft during operational flight, not observed by enemy
_ 4 aircraft damaged without enemy action on operational flight

So certainly a bad day for the Staffel, with 13-14 aircraft losses (total or repairable), 2 KIA and 1-2 WIA.
