A fighter loss August 10, 1943 in Southern Italy??
Hello!
I am trying to find out the circumstances of the death of Ogr. Josef Scherer, who fell on the above date. The card states that he was a member of a JG, but not if he was a pilot. I have not been able to find him in GQM or any of my books. Does anyone know more about him and his fate? Please see included Scan. Thank you in advance Christian

Hi Christian,
the card is interesting, as the card was printed/published in my hometown, maybe also published in the local newspaper. You may contact me via PM. Regards Lino |

Hi Christian:
Did you note the two losses from JG 77, one to and engine failure and the other to pilot error? Neither was 100%. No pilot names are listed, but JG 77 was notorious for this. Prien's new volume of the period does not list him either. |
