366th Fighter Group
I have just two pilots for whom I would like to find serial numbers. Capt. Leroy G. Dickson joined the 390th Fighter Squadron while in the States and was transferred to Headquarters in March of 1944. He was then sent to the 71st Fighter Wing on April 29, 1944. He was a flight leader with the 390th and possibly assistant operations officer with Headquarters.
John D. Bayles was assigned to the 389th Fighter Squadron as a Flight Officer (T-62971). By April of 1945 he was a 2nd Lt. Even though the 389th kept excellent records, for whatever reason, his serial while a 2/Lt. is never listed. I have been through all the group and squadron microfilms/CD's, checked some other on-line and paper sources, and these two men are the only ones from the 366th Fighter Group for whom I cannot find a serial. Thank you for any leads or help with this. Kent |

Re: 366th Fighter Group
Kent,
No joy as to an officer serial number for Capt. LeRoy G. Dickson. you have likely already found his enlistment record: https://aad.archives.gov/aad/record-...g=1&rid=886986 Have added photos and image updates to his findagrave page (might take that page manager a little time to catch-up with all edit suggestions). Note he retired as a Lt Col. from the USAF reserve https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/125480461 A little better luck with John D. Bayles searching ancestry.com. He had continued USAAF/USAF service his Officer Serial Number was O-2009510, see attached WW II Comp Request, showing a chain of serial numbers. The John David Bayles findagrave page is here: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/...n-david-bayles Still working on some suggestion updates for that page manager.

Re: 366th Fighter Group
I had no luck either finding a serial number for LeRoy G Dickson. It appears he was in the class of 41-I, which was commissioned on December 12, 1941, just after Pearl Harbor. He graduated from one of the flight schools in the South Eastern Command. You might be able to get his serial number from one of his children (mentioned in the obit). PM sent.
