3D Printers
Hi Guys,
Did someone start to use 3D printers to make our favorite modells??? (Or part of them to improve them) Have you heard something about that and/or do you plan to use it? Regards, Franck. |

Re: 3D Printers
I have plans to buy in close future 3D Cube, best offer at all. Most interesting is that they also offer their software for design, very similar to Autodesk Inventor but at far lower price.

Re: 3D Printers
Yes, just tried this new technology and applied my creativity. I have sets of 3D printed car models in my mini shop. I’m also looking forward of replicating vintage cars through 3D printing; but I guess that would cost me an arm and leg to purchase the needed materials. For now, I’m contented to create prototype car parts and miniature automobiles. This one is the strongest material I’ve tried so far http://www.3d2print.net/shop/3d-prin...nylon-filament. Is there something better than this? Any suggestions?

3D Printers
Hello Franck
I have read that Eduard's Brassin and at least some of BarracudaCast's line of resin aftermarket sets for plastic scale models is mastered using 3D printing. I do not know if you are only interested in forum members who have used this technology but I have read that it is becoming increasingly popular in regards to scale modelling as its capabilities steadily increase. Horrido! Leo |

Re: 3D Printers
The CubeX offers high resolution but is not inexpensive.
http://www.studica.com/3d-printer-fr...ems-cube-cubex 125 microns is a good resolution level. Best, Ed |

Re: 3D Printers
There is considerable discussion of this, and indeed activity, on model railway sites. These seem to be well ahead of aircraft sites in the adoption of this technology, and I feel that searching these sites might be helpful with regard to the limitations, as well as the possibilities, of this technology. For example, the following site, admittedly limited to British N gauge but that's where my interest lies.
