Theo, the fact that LM261's crew was first buried in Belgium would indicate a loss over that country. Danny

Hi Theo,
One of the documents I have about this crash mention the following details: Post Presumption Memorandum No.1345/48. File Number P.422916/44 date 11.3.48 Relating to Lancaster LM.261 Missing on 11/12.09.44. Crashed at Namur area, Belgium. The crew of this aircraft were buried in the Fosse American Cemetery, later they were concentrated to the Leopoldsburg British Cemetery. Best regards Luc |

Hi Luc,
Many thanks for your info re. the crash location of LM261 -I had hoped that this could be tied to the following NJ claim, but the Namur area is a bit far off the Hirson area: Uffz. Konrad Weisswurm: 1 7./NJG101 4-mot Hirson area (RJ): 3.200 m. 00.09 Cheers, Theo |
