Leut. Ellenrieder JG26

Hi!
On 24. September 1944, Lt. Ellenrieder shot down a Typhoon from 137 Sqn. The pilot, Major G. Piltingsrud, was killed. Piltingsrud was the Squadron Leader and a Norwegian.

Are there any photos of Ellenrieder and/or his plane, an FW190D?

TIA

Stein

Hi, Stein.

Well - I know of a photo of the tail of his aircraft:

Stein Meum,

Be aware that Lt. Dietwin Pape of 9/JG 26 also claimed a Typhoon around the same time and that consequently, Piltingsrud's loss was likely a shared victory.
