Re: German docs in TSAMO

Dear all,

Can anybody tell me if any new Heeresgruppe Mitte Tagesmeldungen have been digitised in the German Russian Digitalisation project which contain Luftflotte 6 daily reports on the Nachtjagd employment in the first week of September 1943, and in the period of the second half of October 1943 till the end of 1943, and 1944? If so, in which file(s) can I find these?

Cheers and thanks, Theo

It certainly is of interest to me. Many thanks for pointing it out, Andrey!
Will have to check it against information coming from Rumanian archives.

If you will find anything related to the Rumanian, Hungarian, or Bulgarian aviation, please let me know.

Thanks, again.

By the way, are Romanian archives available for the "man in the street"? And what is the name of archive with air force's and naval WW2 documents?

Best regards,
Andrey

Thank you very much indeed, Andreas! This moment should become known as "the Great Germandocs Revolution"

I finally have some time today, so will download some files and will e-mail you if I find any problems among the files that I download.

Kind regards,

Dan

Mikael,

You will be particularly interested in the following pages where problems with Do 17 operations are mentioned.

They come from the following document:

Akte 31. Unterlagen der Ia-Abteilung des Generalkommandos des I. Flakkorps: Anlagen zum KTB des Generalkommandos des I. Flakkorps, Band C – Lagemeldungen der Luftwaffengruppe Kaukasus, Feindlageberichte und Abschussmeldungen des Ic-Offiziers der Luftwaffengruppe u.a.

Larry,

Thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention. I would point out that the flak claims appear to be very inflated compared to true Soviet losses, so it will be difficult to match claims and losses in this case.

Kind regards,

Dan

Dan - Inflated, yes; grossly overstated, yes; absurd, yes; but these claims sure made the Flak crews feel reeeeal good!

Agreed, Larry They needed every help they could get to keep their spirits up when their command was sending museum pieces to reinforce the sector:

"6 PZL 11 (Rum.) Begleitschutz für Ju 87"

http://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/d...inspect/zoom/8

"General Zander berichtet noch, dass die Nachtflugschule 3 von Wiener Neustadt unter Obstlt. Steinweg mit 40 Ju 86 nach der Kertsch-Halbinsel verlegt wird. 4 Maschinen sind bereits eingetroffen."

http://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/d...inspect/zoom/8

This information builds on that provided by Andrey about Nachtfluglehrgang 3 in a thread last August:

I've never seen even a hint that this transfer was ever carried out. I think we need some more information to corroborate this one.
