1934 US Navy Bailouts #2 March 30, 1934

"San Diego. Cal.. March 30 1934 Their planes damaged In a mid air collision 14,000 feet over San Diego bay, two service flyers narrowly escaped death or serious Injury today, one balling out and the other landing his crippled plan safely. After a parachute drop of abou 8,000 feet, Ensign Warren George Corliss attached to the VF-6B squadron aircraft battle force, landed In the bay and was rescued by a navy patrol plane. Corliss' ship was demolIshed. Despite damage to the nppe wing, Staff Sergeant William L Woodruff, Marine corps VB-4M piloted the other plane to a sat landing at North Island. Engaged In camera gun practice, the flyers were headed toward Chula Vista when their craft collided. Not Hurt Both Corliss and Woodruff were reported none the worse for the! experience. March 31, 1934

Please can anyone confirm Corliss in F4B-3 A-8908 and provide ID for Woodruff?

I would be interested how Corliss is stated in accident report as he is incorrectly listed as " W. L. Corliss" in the report I was using

Many Thanks Paul
