Loss of Josef Wimmer over the Channel June 1941

Hi everyone,

Half term has meant that I have had time to finally research some of my sterbebild.

I have received a huge help from many people.

Another individual I can find no information about is a

Leutnant Josef Wimmer from a bomber squadron who was lost on the 20th June 1941 over the channel.

Looking in the Blitz Then and Now I can only find memtion of two losses. The one mentioned in the book on page 45 breaks down the crew but no mention of Wimmer.

However, there is a further loss - a He 111 from 2/KG 28 that was shot down by the trawler Capstone off Penzance. Was he part of this crew?

Can anyone help confirm which unit he was from and which aircraft he was in?

many thanks

Rick

Hi Brian

Are you sure that it is IT+AK and not 1T+AK
