Re: ID Bf110's of Stab./ZG76, 1941, need help.

The first two I have seen. These are of interest as you can see the last letter ??+?E. There is another of a Bf110 not not linked. Its on an airfield, starboard side with the 'Dita13' emblem visible. Can't link it as besides it coming up in Google images (small), when I click on it, it only goes to Evgen's post. See two different aircraft. The later with deeper oil coolers. regards, Mark |

Re: ID Bf110's of Stab./ZG76, 1941, need help.
From my RK book research, Grabmann (far more senior to Groth) became Jafü Norway in June 41 before taking command of Z.Schule 2 a few months later. Groth took command June/July 41 and then killed 12 Aug 41. Cannot say there was ever any connection

I'm still curious about the scoreboard, as like I mentioned earlier, the earlier 'Dita 13' (whose one of the photos was posted by Chris) had 6 victory bars on the tailfin |

Re: ID Bf110's of Stab./ZG76, 1941, need help.
His name was Erich, not Walter. The writing in the loss list is wrong. Also the plane was M8+KC, not a 110C but a 110E

I saw this old posting only recently. It seems you are referrikng to the german loss list, which is full of errors. Major Erich Groth and Bordfunker Hebert Muche left Stavanger on 12.08.1941 for Kirkenes with planned stop in Trodheim. Due to bad weather they crashed half way to Trondheim in the vally Fřdalen in Buskerud. Their bodies and the wreck were not found until two years later. The quartermaster has misspelled Groths first name, misspelled the plane as M8+TC instead of M8+KC and as a Bf 110 C instead of as E. Yhe crash site is as we know not Kirkenes, but was probably entered as the plane was supposed to end the flight there. Much of the remnants ot the wtreck is still in Fřdalen. T |
