Looking for Mosquito call sign Coleby Grange
Hello everyone,
got referred by a good friend of mine to this forum. In my hometown a Mosquito crashed due to colliding with trees, on turn around for a second straving of a train standing at a station. The crash happened on the 10th of April 1941 and took the lives of two young brave Canadians, who are since buried at our local cemetery. What I do know is that the crew comprised out of: F/O Bull (radar) and F/O Leach (pilot) of the Mosquito NFII, it had serial DZ743 and was stationed with 410sq RCAF at Coleby Grange. Therefore making it call sign RA- Was wondering if someone can piece the complete call sign together... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Jan |

Re: Looking for Mosquito call sign Coleby Grange
The date was 10th April 1943, two Mosquitos took off at 08:55 on a Day Ranger
Unfortunately the operations record book does not list aircraft code letters so will not help further Regards Martin |

Re: Looking for Mosquito call sign Coleby Grange
The first operation where Mosquitos has been used, was the attack on the Gestapo HQ in Oslo, Norway. The date of that is 25/09/42, any Moquito in use prior to that would be rare.
So 43 instead of 41? |
