Help please with Photo of German Airman

Hi all

I just got this photograph printed from a negative that came with some documents to a pilot from KG 2. I apologise that the quality is not brilliant but it raises a few questions for me:

1. What is the aircraft he is posing in? - it looks like an HE 111 at first glance.
2. What is the equipment he is leaning on?
3. What award is he wearing under his flight clasp? At first I thought he was wearing two flight clasps but the one underneath seems to have much smoother edges than the clasp above so maybe a foreign award?

I would be grateful for some informed opinions.

Re: Help please with Photo of German Airman

Thanks Thomas. I am not sure that a Heinkel 111 fits well with KG 2 so rather intriguing.

This sounds very interesting Hans. I cannot find anything on the Italian Duty Wing for Photographers on the Web. Do you have any images you could share?

Thanks for your help.
