253 Squadron May 26, 1944

On this date the spitfires of 253 shot down 2 Hs126 in the Bihac area of former Yugoslavia. Can anyone supply the names of the pilots who shot them down.

I am also looking for details of three claims (2 Fi156, Bf109) made in April-May 1944 by units other than 1435 Sqn.

Hi Keith

Lt Conradie SAAF claimed one and shared a second with Plt Off Melville.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Cheers again, Brian, I am going through Chris Shores book on the Meditteranean Air War and looking to match up the claims in it to individual pilots.

best regards

You're welcome, Keith

I am writing a piece on 253 Squadron so the information was to hand.

Hi Brian,

This made me curious. Are you writing for a magazine or is it a coming book?

Cheers

Hi Peter

More of a booklet than a full-blown book.

Cheers
