Transportation flights 07.1942 to Africa
Hi,
In the beginning of July 1942 it was decided to convert the 164. Infantry Division into "164 light Inf.Div." and transport the formation to the Africa front. Transporting personnel was to be carried out by air from Maleme airfield by 35 Ju 52 with two daily flights. The first flight took place on 07.07.1942 and the whole transportation was completed in 3 days. Question: 1) Which Lw unit operated the transportation? 2) Is there any friend in this Forum who possess the ULTRA archives of these flights and would like to give them to me? I mean only the lists with the Ju 52 of these flights. I believe they are in HW5 80 to HW5 81. Thank you Byron |
