Mixed detachment of III/JG52 in Stalingrad battle

Gentlemen,

Who can shed some light on how many Bf-109s of III/JG52 were sent to Stalingrad under Decker, later Graf on August 19, 1942? Open sources are all silent regarding actual strength of the detachment.

TIA

Re: Mixed detachment of III/JG52 in Stalingrad battle

Hi,

according to B.Barbas new book of III./JG52 each staffel detached one swarm:
7.Staffel - Ofw. Zwernemann, Fw. Dammers, Uffz. Meier, Uffz. Koppe
8.Staffel - Olt. Deckert, Lt. Funcke, Uffz. Ermisch, Uffz. Hohenberg; later also: Uffz. Schumacher, Uffz. Lotzmann and Fw. Wachowiak
9.Staffel - Olt. Graf, Ofw. Fuellgrabe, Uffz. Kalb, Ofw. Suess and later also Uffz. Wolf
First CO was Olt. Decker and following his death Hptm. Graf.

Regards

Robert

Robert,

Thanks a lot for info!
One remark, Decker was captured not dead, later died in POW camp.
