RAF Khartoum 1947

Ghost writing a book on a senior military figure; during his time in Khartoum in 1947 he had to organise a joint live firing exercise with the RAF. he thinks the aircraft were either Beaufighter's, Mosquitoes or single engine Spitfires?

He recalls them firing rockets and cannon . . .

Does anyone happen to know what aircraft were station out in RAF Khartoum at this time, as all I've come across are some Photographic Mapping Lancaster's and Mosquitoes.

Cheers

Andy Bird
