Re: Photo ID
Hi Kris,
I believe this is actually WNF-built Bf 109 G-8/R5 (WNr. 202113), coded 7+ red or blue o/l white, possibly last with 2./NAG13 and found abandoned at Fl.Horst Bonn-Hangelar (50.772222 7.166666). Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |

Re: Photo ID
For the Ju 87, see:
http://www.ghostbombers.com/sf/Stuka/v8kd_1.html The article includes a complete list of the wrecked aircraft found at Bonn-Hangelar. The photo is in both the USAF and Imperial War Museum collections. |

Re: Photo ID
The Ju 87 is 131372.
There is also a FW 190 in the back ground, looks like 5??452. Perhaps 583452 or 587452? Last edited by Revi16; 23rd November 2020 at 16:56. |

Re: Photo ID
Hello Revi,
You are correct about one of the Fw 190s visible in the background of this ultra-sharp photograph. I have it as: Ar/War-built Fw 190 F-8 (WNr. 588452) 5+ yellow. Nick Beal at Ghostbombers says it was from 3./NSG20 and was damaged after striking a tree on 45/03/01. CEA269 lists this aircraft as later being a burnt-out fuselage in a junkpile at Fl.Horst Bonn-Hangelar, Germany (50.772222 7.166667) Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |

Re: Photo ID
For the sake of completeness - and with thanks to Nick Beale and Carl C. Charles for their help - we have Messerschmitt wise :
1. Bf 109 G-8 W.Nr. 202 113, "Rote 7", 2./NAG 13, Bonn-Hangelar, 22 March 1945. Source: US Signal Corps no. 203218. Correct ID of the tactical number color thanks to Nick Beale, TOCH Forum, 11 March 2013. 2. Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr. 150 840 "Weisse 2", 7./NJG 11, Bonn-Hangelar, 22 March 1945. Source: US Signal Corps no. 203218. Information from Carl C. Charles: this machine was damaged 15% on 9. Feb. 1945 at Bonn-Hangelar due to pilots-error when landing. Unit was III/NJG 11 (GQM-report 14.02.1945). 3. Bf 109 G-14 W.Nr. 463 118 "Gelbe 8", 3./EJG 1, Bonn-Hangelar, 22 March 1945. Source: US Signal Corps no. 203218. Information from Carl C. Charles: ULTRA reports WNr. 463118 on 18. Jan. 1945 at Bonn-Hangelar in connection with EJG 1. Revi, thanks for your photo, it is the best around ! Cheers Marc |
