Ju 88 of I/KG 60 16-1-1943

Having a job to read this loss on GQM dated 19-1-1943 page 6 item 86 . Hard to make out three of the crews names and the mark of the aircraft Ju 88 A-6 ? I think the crash site reads as Sonzay , appreciate if anyone can post the correct details,

Thanks

Thanks Jim , I could only find Sonzay N/W of Tours as a location . I do know if all A-6's were fitted with cable cutters but understand due to negative effect on flight characteristics most were converted back to conventional roles .

Re: Ju 88 of I/KG 60 16-1-1943

No conversion was needed, except possible removal of ballast. Very few aircraft were in fact flown with the "fenders" (actual "cutters traps" were only at wingtips where the wire was cannelled by the fenders), but stocks of them Fenders held in several locations, just in case. Other solution was coming, much lighter fenders (aka so called "cutters" that has been coined by some) built-in as part of the heated-leading-edge in wings but A-14 did have protective fender stips on nose, so did Ju 188s.

I belive most cars have fenders, not cutters, but same can be "used" for tearing up others autos.
