IMO, Pen & Sword cranks out good books on interesting subjects, but their curtailed length and lack of details from primary sources can be very frustrating.

Seems that P & S has set a price/page limit. Which is kind of odd since Seaforth (owned by P & S) continues to publish extensive (and more pricey) naval books.

Orwell1984 is on a distinguished road
Re: Fallschirm-Panzer-Division 'Hermann Göring’

I would note two things about this title.

First the author Lawrence Paterson produces good, well researched work which draws on primary material. His works on E-boats, U-boats and Brandenburgers are well researched and well reviewed.

Secondly, this is from the Greenhill books imprint which tends to be where P&S releases longer, more academic historical titles.

The reprint of Peter Schenk's Operation Sealion, one of the best studies of the German side's planning, is a Greenhill book released by Pen & Sword for example.

In this aspect, Greenhill books mirror Seaforth titles, all under the P & S umbrella.

They're all a cut above the shorter P & S books.

This is a book I'll certainly be picking up.
