John Manrho & Ron Pütz do not state how he was killed in their book 'Bodenplatte'

Re: Operation Bodenplatte Ogfr Sistenich W
There is no way to tell who shot Ogfr. Karl-Heinz Sistenich down. There are simply too many claims of the 366th FG and 362nd FG. Furthermore, his crash location is unknown. He was reported on an Enemy Dead List by the Allies so his remains must have been found. However, no crash location was mentioned and also he has no recorded grave.
Allthough he belonged to 1./JG 11 I am pretty sure he flew the mission with III./JG 11. Regrads, John |

Re: Operation Bodenplatte Ogfr Sistenich W
Somewhere is stated that he was shot down by Brulle. Brulle's only 100% credit was one aircraft on 01-01-1945. Is it then just assumed by somebody that made a link between the fact that Brulle shot down an aircraft at about 5 miles from Y-29 and that the remains of Sistenich where found by Allies somewhere nearby Y-29? Is there anymore info or details where his remains were found? By who? In Asch? ...

Re: Operation Bodenplatte Ogfr Sistenich W
Unless new evidence from a wreck site or other information has been found, no further details are available as I listed in previous post. You can assume he must have crashed in the Asch area, but there is no evidence.

Re: Operation Bodenplatte Ogfr Sistenich W
Ok thanks for the answers. Then we continue with local research and try to solve some crash-locations with not always 100% provable information.
Always in search for info (personal opinions and/or hard evidence) about Bodenplatte crash-sites in and around Asch, regards! |
