Gun Camera Film to DVD - specialist Company required

Hi, I have about 8 rolls of unseen gun camera film of Wendell Parlee's combats (352nd Fighter Group) which I would like transfered to DVD, sounds simple but it is not.

Let me explain, many years ago I tried a company in London (Soho Images), some success but the film had curled up a bit meaning one half of the video was out of focus. I was told it needed to be run through wet so that the film could be held flat, from memory there was some risk of it catching fire if it was not a wet process.

Has anyone been down this path before and can anyone please put me in touch with a company to have this work done. We have Wendy's uniform in the museum and would like to show some his footage next to the display.

Thanks in advance.

Dan

I am not an expert in this field but know a little about film restoration which is the service you most likely need. The other option is to use a service that scans each frame and then links the individual scans to create the movie. Either option can be expensive but the full restoration services will yield the best results. Here are a few links to UK firms that specialize in restoration and digital transfer.

Good luck with your project.

I have put jmcadory in contact with the 352nd FG official photographer to see what can be done.
