Re: Red Wings in the Winter War 1939-1940
Having only Vol.5 of the Red Stars series, I was very curious of this new book and I must admit that I'm not disappointed. The book is well organized and very comprehensive, text is very detailed and the reader gets an impression of receiving all the important information about the particular unit as it was possible to provide. Picture-wise, it is also impressive, both in terms of included photos and the profile section at the end. As usual, I've took some sample pictures, including the index which gives a good idea of the contents. Congratulations to the author and editorial team.

Hej Carl!
Can you tell us what's the difference between this book and "Punailmavoimat Talvisodassa"? Best wishes from Sweden/Håkan

Re: Red Wings in the Winter War 1939-1940
Håkan,
the basic text and photo material is naturally identical. However due to the suggestion of MMP-Stratus the English book includes a rather detailled multipage section describing the Finnish AF activity in the Winter War, which already is available to the Finnish reader in several well-known books, many of which have been published by my Finnish publisher Koala. As a result several appendices included in the Finnish edition are accessible via a link included in the MMP-Stratus book. Hope that this will clarify the situation, Carl |
