Re: JG 52 victories

Hello Nick, I've found mention of a shot down MiG-3 performing escort to Sinyavino on that day. I was looking at the first SB that was shot down which seems to be Franz Blazytko of JG 27 from the location. There could have been more SB that forced landed without any KIA or MIA but I don't have anything more to go on (1941 is a hard period for finding information without living in Russia, which I don't). The VVS KBF bombers were in the air that day and had some losses but not sure how many. It appears that any time that more then one JG is in the air there will be over claiming but in this case it doesn't seem to bad.

You welcome John but hopefully more Russians and others will print on this subject in English.

For John:
I echo Nokose's "you're welcome" because this is a subject that I cannot believe doesn't interest everybody (...for me, it is second only to my lifelong study of rainfall levels in darkest Tanzania LOL)

For Nokose:
I could have sworn you were Russian....

Re: JG 52 victories

27.3.45. Helmut Lipfert claimed two Yak-3s in the Neutra area. Could these have been Sous Lieutenants Francois de Geoffre de Chabrignac baled out WIA and Maurice Challe of Normandie Niemen Regiment KIA (their last combat losses)?

Re: JG 52 victories

Hello Nick,

The answer is no. Neutra is a German name for Nitra in Slovakia, far far away from Eastern Prussia where Normandie-Niemen regiment was active in March 1945.

Hope this helps a little,

Ota

Re: JG 52 victories

Hi Michael,

I have Kharitoshkin listed as serving with 931 SAP. Is this correct?

Nick

Re: JG 52 victories

Ah-ha... Likely an error of the online translator then.

23.3.44, Fw. Andreas Sterl of 4/JG 52 downed a P-39. Was this Lt. Anatoliy Dmitriyevich Tyutin of 66 IAP KIA?
