Is it me or is that Me.262 in the woods painted RLM 76?

Naw, that is 111711, which was surrendered to the Allies by Hans Fay in March of '45 or thereabouts. It ended its life in a field in Ohio after a double-flameout (was part of the collection at Wright-Pat.) It was bare metal and primer......

Not quite true - primer on prefab parts like steel nose tip, nose unit with nose gear and MK compartment, complete tail unit. Eventually ailerons and landing flaps. The rest is bare metal and putty. Not to forget the fabric tape around the fuselage end...

Re: 262, 109, 190 Very good color film

You are correct, I over-simplified. I'd love to see a decent color photo of this aircraft, dozens of B&W photos out there, but precious few color shots of any quality. Given that, I prefer not to speculate on the exact finish of this bird in terms of primers, putties applied.

It was, however, probably at least similar to the what was found under the camouflage paint (at least where it was applied) on the 262 in the Australian War Memorial, as documented in both an article in their their Journal from many years ago, as well as in Eagle Files #5, "Stormbird Colors: Construction, Camouflage and Markings of the Me 262".
