Feedback on "Jonah's Feet are Dry"?

Anyone had a chance to read this book? Looks well done, but price is steep.

Worth it?

KB if your interest is in the 353rd fighter group then this is your book. the best provided so far. big, heavy and quite pricey as you say, maybe a little over the top here. A friend of mine serving in the group till June of 44 when he was shot down by 20mm's and POW proudly displays the book in his living room and shares it with everyone who enters his home. what he is most impressed with besides the photo content is the run-down on the missions. I have only seen the book briefly so another visit is due ....

If you are in to Fighter Group unit histories, then this is one of the most comprehensive you will ever see. Graham Cross has done a great job with it. The only thing missing is an a/c inventory and Graham almost certainly left that out because I can update that sort of thing easier on the web site than can be done in a printed volume. It certainly wasn’t due to shortage of space because he was not tied by publisher’s constraints on this one.

Re: Feedback on "Jonah's Feet are Dry"?

Anyone have the exact size of this book? - I heard it is rather large. As it is published in the UK, I am assuming it might be the same size as John Manrho's Bodenplatte. Sizing shelves for all these large format books is becoming quite problematic. I had previously set my shelves to the dimensions of the Eagle Editions and Schiffer books which are not quite as tall but have since found the British books are bigger so a bit of juggling is required.

Thanks for taking the trouble Harri, I didn't realize that 'Jonah's Feet are Dry' was such a monster....it looks to be roughly the size of 'The Battle Of Britain, Then and Now'. More juggling on my shelving sizes needed! Ugh.

The Webshots might not allow direct linking an image hence it is not showing.
Here is the address to that photo: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...82351618OfheOR

Jonah's Feet are Dry is an impressive work(676 pages).First half of the book tells the Group's history. The second half consists of mission to mission diary with pilots' combat reports.
The text is in the main role in the book the photos being medium to small sized, but they are clear. In the end of the book there are portraits of most the pilots, for instance 350th FS has 145 pilots listed with 130 photos existing.
