Re: Rudolf Trenn
More likely the only one that has survived or so far surfaced from private sources. One can only imagine the treasures still tucked away in attics or thrown away as Grandpa's unwanted stash.
Not related to WWII in any way, but as an example, I rescued a whole pile of old family photos that my deceased 100-year old great-aunt had saved, going back to the turn of the last century, from my own mother's and aunt's (father's sister) 'cleaning out' of the aunt's house after she, the great-aunt, passed away. My mom was wicked pissed that I wanted to save this stuff and couldn't fathom why I thought saving these was important to me, my siblings and cousins. How many times has that situation occurred with dad's, grandpa's or great-grandpa's stuff after they passed? (Not the argument, but the attitude that it's just unwanted trash.) |
