German aviation document collection to be dissolved?? Anyone know?
Hi Guys!
I was contacted by a friend in Europe who said that an organization in the US is going to dissolve its archive of aviation documents of the WW2 era. I was thinking the Smithsonian...maybe NASA. Has anyone heard of this? TIA |

Re: German aviation document collection to be dissolved?? Anyone know?
The Smithsonian would be NASM (National Aeronautics and Space Museum). Their collection is all on thousands of rolls of microfilm and is virtually 100% filmed copies of German aviation industry documents - technical stuff. The collection originals are at BA-MA Freiburg.
I have heard nothing of any intention to liquidate this collection, however. L. |
