General IKE´s scaring flights...

Good night to all again!
I am looking to 2 interesting flights that almost cost the life of General Eisenhower during WW2. They are:
1/ During the CASABLANCA Meeting ( I do not have the precise date of the incident ), a Boeing B-17 flown by Captain Jock Reedy lost 2 engines, but managed to deliver the High Graduates aboard ( including General Ike ) alive. I would like to know:
a) The serial number of the aircraft in question
b) The crew
c) Causes of incident ( engine malfunction, oil leakage? )
2/ During the first days of September 1944 ( most probably on the 7th or 8th ), General IKE was returning from a Front Inspection of troops when, due to bad weather ( Storm ) his pilot, Lt Underwood was obliged to land a C-47 on a beach. I would like to know more about this incident too.
a) serial number of the C-47
b) Any damages to the plane? Was it rescued or savaged or scrapped after this?
Thanks in advance for all those who can help
Adriano

Adriano,

Perhaps interesting for others as well to read Eisenhower's Casablanca adventures here: http://www.eisenhowermemorial.org/st...e-bail-out.htm

It doesn't give the answers you're looking for, but rather meant as background info. The flight was on 15 Jan 1943.

Regards,

Leendert
