Re: Bf109 F-4 W.Nr 8694 recovered.
Hello MS,
in the loss table of III./JG 27 in Jagdfliegerverbände Vol. 11/I the Bf 109 F WNr. 8694 is listed as 60% damaged on 27 Feb 1943 at Kastelli/Crete. According to Jagdfliegerverbände Vol. 12/I the WNr. of the JG 5 aircraft was 8594. In the GQM loss returns are divergent informations: 27 Feb 1943 loss WNr. 6697 and 18 Mar 1943 loss WNr. 8694. Regards Leo |

Hi Leo,
Thanks for this. Definitely not Crete. Must be a typo. 8694 was definitely lost 18th March 43 with JG5. F4 Trop as well. Still need to know what she was doing in 1942. regards, MS |
