Re: Korovye Selo
I don't know, but Korovye Selo is supposed to be located 30 km north of Ostrov.
So maybe Cherskaya ("Cerskaya")? http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c...multimap.y=197 I also used Google Earth to see if I could find any airfield there, but with no result. http://earth.google.com/ (Try it - it's great. I've been "flying" over lots of places where Graf, Grislawski, Schuck, and others once flew - over the battlefields in Europe and Libya. Fascinating.) |

Re: Korovye Selo
Andy and Christer, thanks for useful hints.
Just found it actually - look here: http://www.corp.mtsgsm.com/coverage/mts/pskov/O-3523/ it is still named Korovye Selo. I presume the a/f could be to the north of the village. Regards, Pawel |

Re: Korovye Selo
Below is what I received from Pskov archive:
"During the WWII at the territory of the Palkinsky district there existed a village Korovye Selo. The village exists today as well. According to the words of the people living there a German airfield was situated there. Now there is a grainfield. The only thing that reminds about the airfield is a preserved underground shelter consisting of two parts. Now it is used as a cellar for keeping vegetables." Kind regards, Pawel |
