FalkeEins or any other...
.... person who has read the Lorant/Goyat book "Bataille dans le ciel d'Allemagne" Vol 2
Does it say which JG Gruppe Fw. Arnulf Meyer (9. Staffel) was attached to? I am curious if it was I./JG27 or III./JG27 or III./JG53 or IV./JG53 which were authorized to use the 1.98ata boost, and if so, did they use the 1.98ata. |

Re: FalkeEins or any other...
..not sure if I understand the question - Lorant/Goyat state that the remnants of JG 53 (that's II./ III./ & IV. Gruppen) were (officially) attached to the remnants of JG300 on 30 April 1945. According to Meyer's recollections he flew his first and last sortie in the K-4 that day and his war ended there..

Re: FalkeEins or any other...
Thanks FalkeEins.
Fw. Arnulf Meyer was part of III./JG53 then, which then became a component of JG300. Is that correct? from OKL, Lw.-Führüngstab, Nr. 937/45 gKdos.(op) 20.03.45 19. III. / JG 53 Bf 109 K-4, no change, boost increase to 1.98 ata 20. IV. / JG 53 Bf 109 K-4, no change, boost increase to 1.98 ata 1.98ata required C3 fuel There is one who claims that 1.98ata was in widespread use and there was lots of C3 fuel, yet at an airfield that had Fw190s which required C3 fuel, they only filled the K-4s tanks half full despite the fact that the a/c at the airfield were going to be destroyed. What I am trying to find out is if 1.98 ata boost was actually used. |
