Re: Event dated 19.9.1944 3 x YAK-9 shot down Belgrade
I have info about 3 Saratov built Yak-3 from batch No.13, that were assigned to the 17 VA, 236 IAD:
1013 1113 1213 1213 was assigned to the 267 IAP withinn the 236 IAD. All three planes were handed over to the new Yugoslavian Air Force in April, 1945. Not sure about the other two assignments. They could be either 267 IAP, or 117, 168 GvIAPs. (I have AC serial lists for only 611 IAP, 117 GvIAP and all of the IL-2s, given to Yugoslavia in April, 1945. Unfortunately no confirmed serials for the 168 GvIAP - yet.) Gabor |

I have overlapped Pipera's aerial taken by Luftwaffe during WWII on the right of Google map of Baneasa airfield or of today's Aurel Vlaicu airport . In WWII Pipera might have been just 1-2 Km SE of Baneasa airfield but part of the same facility and probably under same control tower , Baneasa was the civilian part of it - Last edited by researcher111; 19th December 2020 at 12:55. |
