Re: Bf109 - Film 1944/45
Hi Kris, no clear identification for those two machines:
"Weisse 3" is a WNF built Bf 109 G-10; the size and style of its tactical marking is similar to those documented for JG 52. "Weisse 8" is an Mit Bf 109 K-4 showing the "Mtt Bodenwöhr" RLM 76 streak on its lower fuselage. Though less obvious the "Weisse 3", the size and style of its tactical marking is not in contradiction with those documented for JG 52. Again, this is only a hypothesis, confirmation has yet to come. Thank You Marc.
See this : 1st.- Messerschmitt Bf 109 G10, from 1./Jagdgeschwader 52 (JG 52), White 3, unknown pilot, Altkemnitz Germany April 1945. 2nd.- Messerschmitt Bf 109 (Unknown model), from 7./Jagdgeschwader 27 (JG 27) , White 8, unknown pilot, Kalamaki Greece February 1944. Source: https://live.warthunder.com/post/366116/en/ Altkemnitz http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=46908 "...History: On 20th April 1945, 39 Bf-109G-10 and K-4 of I./JG 52 led by Maj. Erich Hartmann arrived form Raudnitz to Alt-Kemnitz. No more than 30 of them were ready for combat. The unit delivered supplies for besieged Breslau directly, or providing aerial cover for transport planes taking off from Königgrätz (Hradec Kralove), Pardubice and Hohenmaut (Vysoke Myto). Though Luftflotte 6’s archives say that I./JG 52 moved fist to Schweidnitz and then to Deutsch Brod on 21-22 April, a few aircraft of 1st Staffel were left at Alt-Kemnitz at least until 3rd May. ..."

Re: Bf109 - Film 1944/45
Marc,
I think you may have made an identification error in calling the Bf 109, white 3, a Bf 109 G-10. To me, this aircraft is more likely a Bf 109 G-6AS/U2. If you look very closely, you will see the unmistakable external GM1 power boost delivery tube beneath the cockpit. According to my files GM1 was simply not found on late war production Bf 109s. By a process of elimination, that leaves us with the G-6AS. You can see a much better photo of this external tube on another G-6 shown in Monogram Close-Up 6, page 20. It is probable this arrangement was employed as a precaution due to the volatile nature of GM1. Hal |

Did all G-10s have that tail wheel extension?
White 3 did not have it. Bronc |
