Attention to all Finns: Finnish Air War Seminar II

Dear all and especially Finns,

I am pleased to announce the Finnish Air War Seminar II.
This event is organised by the Finnish Aviation Museum Society and the Finnish veteran pilot society, Pilvenveikot.

The seminar will start at 11 o´clock, Saturday, January 15th 2011, at the Finnish Aviation Museum, Tietotie 3, Vantaa.
Former commander of the Finnish Air Force (1991-1995), Lieutenant General (ret.) Heikki Nikunen will give a short presentation about the air war
during the Winter War and the Continuation War. After that several veteran pilots are interviewed about their experiences during the war.

This event will be in Finnish language only. Please find more information about the agenda here: http://www.imy.fi/ajankohtaista/ilmasotaseminaari.html (in Finnish only)

It is strongly recommend to reserve a ticket beforehand, according to instructions given in the link above.
This is a unique opportunity to hear first hand experiences from the men who were there.
Wellcome!

On behalf of the Finnish Aviation Museum Society,
Raimo Malkamäki

Re: Attention to all Finns: Finnish Air War Seminar II

Dear all,

chairman of the Pilvenveikot-association has confirmed me that in addition to those who have already been mentioned on this website: http://www.imy.fi/ajankohtaista/ilmasotaseminaari.html ,

at least four more veterans will attend the seminar.

These gentlemen will also be there:
  • Evert Turunen, born in 1916, mechanic, Dornier bombers.
  • Kalle Paalanen, born in 1921, pilot in war booty Russian SB-bombers
  • Antti Savela, born in 1922, observer in war booty Russian DB-bombers
  • Viljo Lehtinen, born in 1923, radio operator / tail gunner in Blenheim-bombers.
Don´t miss this opportunity to listen the veterans.
The website mentioned above will be updated soon. If we get new participants, the website will also be updated. We are looking for at least two more veterans to join the meeting. Stay tuned!

Best regards,
Raimo Malkamäki
