Flugplatz Mironowka

Good evening everybody
Maybe someone can help me with following matter:
during Operation Barbarossa first on september 01, 1941 II./JG3, than on september 02, 1941 III./JG52 flew in airfield Mironowka. Unfortunately in area where operated both Gruppen there are two places called Mironowka:
1. town Mironowka SE of Belaya Tserkov;
2. village Mironowka N of Alexandrija;
Maybe somebody has knowlage which of those two was a base of Luftwaffe units.
All the best

Re: Flugplatz Mironowka

This is from the Luftwaffe Gazetteer of Russian airfields and is the only one by this name of the 12,000 or so that are listed:

Mironowka(RUSS/UKR)(e. Mironovka) - S Russia (c. 65 km ESE of Belaya Tserkov); Lp.

Re: Flugplatz Mironowka

Thank You Larry.
I suspected it was there particulary in view of latter movements of Guderian,s PzGr1 in North direction from Ktementschug, but I didn't have hard prove. Other location of village Mironovka is close to other II./JG3 airfields: Alexandrija or Stschastliwaja.
Thanks for help

Re: Flugplatz Mironowka

Larry,

I have not heard of this Luftwaffe Gazetteer of Russian airfields before. Is it an archive document or was it published?

Best,
Ed

Re: Flugplatz Mironowka

Ed - It can be found here:
  • Führungsstab Ic/Ob.d.L. Nr, 6189/43 (IV), “Übersichtsliste der Flugplätze SU” and similar lists for Poland, Romania, Hungary and Czechoslovakia found in NARA microfilm T-321 roll 92 (folders OKL/125, 261 and 710) and roll 239 (OKL/903).
The place name listings are all in German that has been transliterated from Russian, so some skill in these two languages is needed to translate the German to the English spelling of the Russian place names.
