FW190D-13

Seems it hv been allocated at the war-end some D-9/D-13 to 1.NAGr.1, particulary a D-13 Wn 836002, is there any confirmation for this Wn ???

Re: FW190D-13

Japo's Fw 190 D Volume 2, page 464, notes one a/c in the 836 xxx series and that is the famous 10-+- used in performance trials against a Tempest on 25 Jun 45. So, there is no reason why earlier production numbers couldn't have found their way to various units.

Re: FW190D-13

I would think it odd that a D-13 would be used in a Reconnaissance role?
George does make a good point, with Yellow 10's Wn 836017, there are a handfull of potential AC that could have been Unit active from the series block.
I would suspect allocated for Fighter unit use, However I have learned to never say never when it comes to the Luftwaffe! Recon Anyone?
What is your scource for this use of a D-13 Remi?

Kevin

Re: FW190D-13

They hv not one but 4 Fw190D , 2 D-9 2 D-13, Recce units hv gen. the state of the art in pilots nd machines Me262/Ar234, further organisation nd logic was not the first quality of german in 1945

Re: FW190D-13

Greetings Remi!!!! Two (2) D-13's??? this is interesting! I still wonder what your scource is for this? Just that any reliable scource would make this perhaps more believable, And perhaps further research would follow knowing We are not looking for the good ole' "White Elephant"?
Wishing you a great 2009!
Kevin

Re: FW190D-13

I know this is an old thread, but is it possible to get more information about the allocation of Fw190D-9/D-13 to NAGr1? Maybe Werknummern or aircraft markings?
Does this ULTRA document give further details about the aircraft types used by Stab, 2. and 3. Staffel of NAGr1?

Thank you very much in advance!

Regards

Michael

See the attached image.

The 2. Staffel used Bf 109s from its reformation in October 1944 until the end of the war. The 3. was also a Bf 109 unit, see my January 2012 post for the Werk Nummern of its aircraft when it ceased operations: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showpo...9&postcount=12

Re: FW190D-13

Hello Nick, thank you very much for posting the ULTRA document!
I am just a bit surprised about the reason to (presumably) equip 1./NAGr1 with Fw190s besides the Me262! Logistically speaking this decision is not feasible at all! Or could these illegable lines refer to 2./NAGr1?

I found an old article from Jet&Prop dealing with the surrender of the Luftwaffe in Northern Germany. One passage recounts these last days for 2./NAGr1 at Hohn, but the only mentioned aircrafts are Bf109! If you you need the article I can send a scan via PM.

Thank you very much again

Michael

PS: Could it be possible that NAGr6 was allocated some Fw190D-9s as well?

Re: FW190D-13

Or could these illegible lines refer to 2./NAGr. 1?
The missing lines probably contained the report for 1./NAG 1 (Me 262s) and most of the report for 2./NAG 1.
... an old article from Jet&Prop ... recounts these last days for 2./NAGr. 1 at Hohn, but the only mentioned aircraft are Bf109!
Which issue was that? I may have it although I had forgotten that article!
... possible that NAGr. 6 was allocated some Fw190D-9s as well?
See here and here.
