looking for a contact near osnabrück Germany

Hello to all
I am researching my great uncle Ian Melville Campbell RNZAF who was the pilot of Lancaster QR-E ND-988 which flew out of skellingthorpe on a raid to the Dortmund ems canal 23 September 1944 that was shot down and crashed in the town of Wechte Germany
.

I would like to like to make contact with someone who would like to join me in a visit to the town and locate the crash site .

I have a well documented Raf report made on the crash in 1946 which was based on local information of people who witnessed the crash and following events.

All help,is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Re: looking for a contact near osnabrück Germany

Mike, a buddy of mine lives near Muenster, who might be willing to assist. The one person that lived near Dortmund and was an expert on WW2 crashes passed a few years back. If you scan the documents in, I could contact a historian in that community. Most German communities have a local history club. Danny
