Fw 58 crash Chateaudun - seeking wknr + crew details - 2 July 1940

Good morning to all members.

I would like to know more details about the crash of a Fw 58 at 09:15hs at Châteaudun Flugplatz, on the 2nd July 1940.

This machine crashed due to poor visibility (IMC in bad weather), probably a CFIT (Controlled Flight into Terrain).

Am not sure if the pilot was Oberst Otto Abernetty, or if he was flying as a passenger.

Any help in ID the werknummer of the machine and the rest of the crew would be most welcomed.

Adriano

Accidents list , give the STKZ ; most probably NG+LJ

Re: Fw 58 crash Chateaudun - seeking wknr + crew details - 2 July 1940

Original doc is for NG+LJ , STKZ.de, hv this NG+LJ as 3016 for the serial, nd still in used in 1941 nd 1943, so possibly NG+LI the one which crashed on 2.Juli ! , only given with FFS See 2 i. Januar 1940 .
Abernatty was Gen. Major, born on 8.th of march 1893, was somebody proeminent with Koluft Heeres Gr. B, till 1.June 1940
