Nice but rare picture of 10./JG 2 - question of markings

Hi,
I plan to make Lt. Rudolf Wieprecht's Fw 190 A4 "9 blue" (WNr. 142454) but the only picture I have from 10./JG2 is this 6 Blue Fw190.
Is anybody know that is this chevron behind german cross ? What color is it ? and does every Fw190 from 10./JG2 had this chevron ?
Thanks a lot for answer.

Wlad

This is a very well known photo taken 1942-3 of a Jabo of 10/JG 2 before the unit became IV/SKG 10

Re: Nice but rare picture of 10./JG 2 - question of markings

The photo is not of the 2nd formation of 10/JG 2 (when Wieprecht was with it from Apr/May 43 to his death 4 Jul 43) but the first. The markings are peculiar to the first formation of 10 (Jabo)/JG 2 and as far as I am aware would have not been used on his FW 190. I suggest you look at my book 'Fighter Bombers over Britain' or Batailles Aeriennes No 56 'Jabos sur L'Angleterre'.

Thank Chris for your answer. I've got your book (in french...) in my library. I will have a look.

Re: Nice but rare picture of 10./JG 2 - question of markings

So if I summarize, my Lt. Rudolf Wieprecht's Fw 190's profile will be a Fw 190 A3 (A4 ?) with 9 blue and blue chevron, with the 10/JG 2 insigna (little fox with boat in the mouth) in front on hood. Thanks for all.

Re: Nice but rare picture of 10./JG 2 - question of markings

Wlad,
Like Chris said, 10./JG2 is Not the 10.Jabo./JG2, so no bleue chevron and no little Fox.
The 10./JG2 of Rudolf Wieprecht was in the III.gruppe, so for me, Fw 190's profile will be a Fw 190 A4 with 9 blue + I
Maybe (like lot of III.gruppe's Fw190 in 1943), stylised eagle (without the head) just for hide the exhaust stains.
Fred

Ps: why Rudolf Wieprecht 's Fw190?

This machine is an A-2/3 WNr. 080 I believe. There is another photo that clearly shows the WNr.
