As surname I read "von Grein". No idea if this correct.

An quite bad German ---- "Meinem lieben Kleinen ..." (Dativ) would be correct but the last letter isn't an "n". Maybe now, in 2015, you find a lot of Germans with problems in their own language (today I've found such an "funny" mistake in our newspaper written by an journalist), but in 1941 ... ?

The word "kleines" in this case could be used by the writer such as a nickname
for his girlfriend or wife. For Rasmussen: It's realy a very personal handwriting, not easy to read. (that's why I do not know if I am absolutely right; and I know that the sentence is grammatical incorrect) And why not "Kleinod" instead of "kleines" . But what's about "Rainer" ? |
