John Waddy P-40N serial number needed
Hi.
Can anyone tell me the serial number of the P-40N in the attached photo? I know it's not A29-607, and I don't think it's A29-1147, but I'm not sure. Thanks Peter Last edited by PMoz99; 1st April 2018 at 18:22. |

Re: John Waddy P-40N serial number needed
Hello,
The late Geoff Pentland (who had access to Waddy's Log Books). identified this P-40N, as A29-1039:BU-G. P-40N-35 A29-1039, was on No.80 Squadron strength from 19-2-45 to 2-4-45. As an aside, Pentland mentions the fact that serials of Waddy's Kittyhawks invariably totalled "13" - P-40N-40 A29-1138:BU-G, being another example. See: The P-40 Kittyhawk in Service. Melbourne:Kookaburra Technical Publications,1974. pp.60-1. Col. |

Thanks Col!
You don't happen to know if the codes on this a/c were sky blue or white, do you? The G looks white in the photo when compared to the VE and roundel centre, but apparently the standard was sky blue. Peter |
