Hello Joel,
I think this pilot was not a member of JG 2. May I ask you, please, what is your source of information?
If you are interested in Lt.Hans "Pitt" Regner 9./JG 52, please contact me.
I have his photo.
Regards, Tony

In March 2, 1944 was killed Uffz Johann Regner of 6./NJG 2 in Bf 110 F-4, 2696 in Holzelfingen, 9 km südöstlich Reutlingen. Reason: Absturz infolge Motorstörung. Bruch 100 %.

He was not a pilot but Bordwart!

According to Mombeek 11./JG 2 lost WNr 642557 on this day.
However, the pilot is unknown and the reasons for the loss are unclear.
Not even the correct place seems to be known for certain. Listed as Lannois only which Mombeek
speculates was Launois sur Vence.

May I ask why you consider Hans Regner to be the pilot in the first place and why the aircraft was shot down?
I am not saying it wasn't, but what makes you so sure?

Cheers
Stig

...and from what I can see, Regner went missing with 9./JG 52 in Jan 42? Maybe Matti can link the Wk Nr with a loss? Would be interested to know where Joel got this information

Re: search info fw190 Hans Regner

excuse me Exactly, I don't know anymore. on March 2, 1944, there were several air battles over the Ardennes 4 German aircraft are lost: Fw190A7 wk642008 "+?" 11JG2 Friedrich Schöneberger MIA between Sedan and Charleville Fw190A7 wk642544 "+?" 9JG2 Roland Stûckardt crashed in Chéhéry "no more info" Fw190A7 wk341251 "3+" 12JG2 Wolfgang Steinicke crashed at Bulson "no more info" Fw190A7 wk642557 "7+" 11JG2 Hans Régner crashed Launois on Vence "no more info" The census of these fallen planes are in the archives of the water and forest companies of the time and registers in town halls when they still have them. I'm just a model maker and I reproduce the planes that fell in the Ardennes in 39-45, so a lot of research in your books and other registers. thank you Joel

The losses of III./JG 2 per Prien, et al, "Die Jagdfliegerverbände, 13.IV" and other sources like M. Balss' "Deutsche LW Losses & Claims". Note the two losses listed at the end with incomplete data. Could one of them have been for WNr.642557? There is still no pilot name associated with either loss. I have no loss at all for that particular machine in my database.

Re: search info fw190 Hans Regner

Thanks Joel

Since I am not familiar with the archives you quote, I have basically the same info as provided by Jim.
Mombeek has one printing error, listing WNr 341251 (didn't exist as a Fw 190 A-7) instead of 340251.

Mombeek lists both WNr 642557 (not listed by Prien) and the two III./JG 2 sundry losses, so at least he
did not think one of them could have been 642557, but I am more inclined to go with Jim in this case.

Checking a third source (Fred Trendle) makes no difference, he has not got WNr 642557 either.

Obviously Mombeek and Joel must have consulted the same sources, since neither Prien, Balls nor
Trendle has located that WNr.

Perhaps Matti can shed some light on the problem?

Cheers
Stig
