Allied fighter plane crash on November 2nd, 1944 sw Burgsteinfurt?

Hello, does anyone know if an Allied fighter plane crashed in the area southwest of Burgsteinfurt on November 2nd, 1944? Supposedly a Hurricane IIc. I think it was an false identification. I rather prefer to believe that the lost aircraft was a P51 or a Spirfire. I am thankful for every hint.

Best regards

Moien,

Hello
Yes it´s Steinfurt near Münster. Legden-Ahaus is approximately 17 km sw of Burgsteinfurt.
I live in Borghorst (Burgsteinfurt and Borghorst is Steinfurt).

regards, Rene

https://aviationarchaeology.com/dbSearchAFMACR.asp

Type in the date -441102 and aircraft type - P-51.
About ten were downed in Germany that date that have MACR's.

J-2435 refers to the loss of P-51D 44-14378 LC-A of 77FS, 20FG flown by Lt. Denis J Allison of Dryden, MI. MACR 10236, which gives the date as 1st November, but that could be an error!

Re: Allied fighter plane crash on November 2nd, 1944 sw Burgsteinfurt?

Hello, thanks for the replies so far, but nothing suitable has been found so far, I know all of the crashes mentioned above.

Alison's crash was on November 1, 1944. But I'm looking for a crash on November 2, 1944.

The unit that is said to have shot down the plane with flak gave November 2, 1944 as the shooting date. And as an aircraft type Hurricane IIc.

The same unit reported another downing of the same aircraft type for November 10, 1944 at the Oldebroek military training area (Netherlands). I'm not aware of this crash either.

I assume that both shots must have been of a different type of aircraft.

Best regards
