The names are all on a wooden memorial panel, and I wondered if anyone could supply any further details... Hi ,
Here some information : Sgt Collins Maxwell Ritchie was lost when his Wellington R-1614 went missing during a raid on Bremen. F/Sgt Goldney Robert Edward went missing aboard off Halifax Mk III DT-704 during a raid on Kiel. P/O Image Leslie died when his Halifax Mk III MZ-712 KW-S went missing on a mission to Hamburg. 16 July 1941. 13 OTU. Blenheim I L6767. Training. The aircraft took off from Bicester to practice solo night circuits and landings but after overshooting the runway came down at 0125 hrs in trees near the village of Launton just over a mile east of Bicester town centre. |

W/O. H G. Collins RCAF
W/O Collins and the rest of his crew failed to return from a night patrol over the Bay of Biscay. They were flying a Leigh Light-equipped Vickers Wellington Mk. XII, s/n MP542 and coded 1-C |
