looking for information on a crew of a Legion Condor He111
Could I have some help to gather data (pictures, personal story) on the crew of the Legion Condor He111 WNr. 2214 which crashed on 25.1.39 in the French Pyrenées mountains?
This crew was : Pilot: Claus Bötker, Uffz. Fritz Seiler, Uffz. Armin Möller Uffz. Otto Adler. A picture of one of the graves is attached. Story of the A/C is there : http://aerocherche.fr/index.php/arti...e-condor-tomba Thanks in advance GC Last edited by gilles collaveri; 15th May 2016 at 17:34. |

Re: looking for information on a crew of a Legion Condor He111
Thank you. Is there photo of the other two crew member's gravestone?
In the other hand it is my guess Lt.Claus Bötker was not the pilot but the observer. In most cases in LC crews (also in WWII) the airplane's commander was the most qualified as in the case of observers (usually officers) the pilot was considered in Luftwaffe a merelly a 'chauffeur' and could be sergeants and NCO's. I have entries in Flugbucher about Heinkel 25-12 when 'collected' by the VB/88 in Seville after his ferry flight from Germany, via Palma de Mallorca island, at the beguinning of August 1937. This airplane was built in Heinkel plant some weeks before, according the data plate found by you. This plane was named when in the 1.K/88 as 'Armin Höyer'. That's explain in the police report the fuse fragment with the tittle 'NHOYER'. I have sent you a message to your email address Best regards Francisco Last edited by fran; 21st March 2016 at 17:04. |

Hello,
I think I have identified the selector you found. Not sure what was its function on the steering column. Maybe to block the tail Wheel? |
