Modelling question. Early No 92 squadron emblem
Good evening everyone
I have a question. I am planning to build Bristol Blenheim Mk. IF in No. 92 squadron. From the photos I have seen I know that their Blenheims wore unit emblem on the noses. It was maple leaf with three "Flying Swords" of No 601 RAuxAF squadron. I assume that those swords were red. But does anyone of you know what might have been the colour of the maple leaf? Thank you Dominik |

92 Sq badge is a cobra flanked by two maple leaves. 601 Sq badge is a winged sword at an angle. Neither seem to match your description. However maple leaves are usually depicted as red: if you are sure that the three swords are red then green is the likeliest possibility.

@Graham
I have photos of 92 squadron's Blenheims taken while in Croydon. I think they come from Mr Robinson's book about the unit. And swords are darker than the leaf, so I assume that they are red. The leaf might be yellow or a colour which can have similar shade in black and white photos. |
