Crashed Luftwaffe Portland

I have in my possession a photograph of a supposed crashed WW2 German Aircraft, type unknown, date unknown.
The crash site is located on the Island of Portland, Dorset, Uk.
Investigation of documented crashed Luftwaffe aircraft locally reveals only 2 crashed / crash-landed, these are:
(a) 11/08/1940 Ju88 ?/B3+DC KG54.
(b) 23/03/1942 Ju88 ? ?
If anyone as details of any others, help would be appreciated.
Kimberlin

Re: Crashed Luftwaffe Portland

If you post your photo, it should be fairly easy to identify the incident concerned for you. The August 11, 1940 crash was certainly very well-photographed.

Re: Crashed Luftwaffe Portland

Sounds like the 110 down on the Verne on 11 July 1940 but no image posted so I'm only guessing. Check your Private Messages.

Peter,
The attachment should now be viewable on message April 12th, 2006, 19:23.
From a local point of view the area of the photo is on the east of the island near the village called THE GROVE, some distance from The Verne.
Regards.
