Re: Full Names of some 73, 94 and 213 Sqn Pilots

Hello,

73 Sqn, April 1945:
Lt T Harper

Do not have full details, but the following might help with full identification:

HARPER, Lt T.S. 328716V. Score 0-1-0*. 73 OTU 1943. 73 Sqdn RAF 1944-45 (WiA 14.5.44). 1 Sqdn 1945-9.45. S7WU (Has been wrongly given as Hafner).

* 2 April 1945 - 73 Sqdn - Spitfire F.IX JL239 - T/o 17.50, bombing at Gospic. Probably destroyed a Bf 109 12.8km SW of Karlovac. (This was the last SAAF fighter claim in air-to-air combat during the Italian/Balkan campaigns).

Furthermore, A Lt Stan Harper SAAF baled out No.73 Sqn Spitfire V JK893 (over the Adriatic), after being hit by flak near Drace on 11 May, 1944. 73 Squadron Part 3/Minterne.pp.40 & 360.

213 Sqn, March 1945:
Lt W Thompson (SAAF).

Actually:

THOMSON, Lt Winston St.Clair 543150V. 11 OTU by 7.44. 213 Sqdn RAF until PoW 24.3.45.

Do you need further information on Thomson?
